Principal Investigator

A warm welcome to our website! We hope you will get a glimpse into what we aim to achieve in The Nano Lab at KFUPM.

Having built up significant experience in a number of overlapping fields at various universities – including the University of Cambridge, Universität Duisburg-Essen, and KAUST – has enabled us to craft a certain research niche.

Our underlying philosophy is to create technologies and strategies that address real world problems. We adopt a holistic approach, within the scope of our expertise, to devise nanotechnology based products, and improve associated production efficiencies.

Creativity is the key to unlocking a myriad of possible improvements – and even breakthrough technologies. We believe engineering to be a synergy between the scientific method and excellent design.

To the optimist, the glass is half full. To the pessimist, the glass is half empty. To the engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

On my journey so far, I have come to appreciate how science and art are human attempts to describe and understand nature. The subjects and methods have different traditions, and the intended audiences are different, but I think the motivations and goals are fundamentally the same. Here are examples of some of the musical and visual arts I enjoy, shared below.
